We thank you for considering UTEC as your possible event location. Facility rentals help allow UTEC to sustain and grow its mission and programming, both through rental revenue and by providing diverse opportunities for youth to be involved in planning and staffing. We are always looking for ways to provide services to the community, and hope that UTEC is able to accommodate your needs. UTEC's large, multipurpose meeting center is available for conferences and meetings, weddings, galas, dances, concerts and more. With four unique rent-able rooms and an in-house culinary program, there is truly an option for every function and budget, whether it's a 10-person meeting or a 250-person fundraiser. After an ambitious renovation, finished in 2012, UTEC is now the oldest LEED Platinum Certified building in the country; the original church was built in 1839. We take pride in our “green” features, from the solar panels on our roof to the local ingredients in our kitchen.
United Teen Equality Center doesn't offer onsite parking, but there is plenty of metered on-street parking - and located across the street from us is the Lower Locks Garage on Warren Street.
Performance and Function Hall
The largest of our rent-able spaces can seat up to 250 and features a cathedral ceiling, original gothic architectural details, a full AV and sound system, and lots of gorgeous natural light. Past events have included weddings, expos, seminars, concerts, lectures, dances, and art shows. The room can easily convert from casual to dressy and UTEC event staff members will do all set-up prior to your arrival.
Our beautiful café space is an ideal fit for a cocktail party, rehearsal dinner, corporate gathering, and much more. Rental includes use of the adjacent small indoor courtyard, with a multi-story atrium and original stained glass windows. The capacity is 40-70 depending on function type.
Dance Studio/Large Conference Room
The dance studio, with its mirrored walls and new sprung wood floor, is perfect for dance classes, and small performances or competitions. The room's city view and unique architectural elements also make it ideal for meetings and seminars for 30-50 people.
Our boardroom is the smallest meeting space, but easily sits 14-18 people. With windows overlooking the city, new wooden tables built by our program youth, and AV capability, it's perfect for anything from short meetings and break-out sessions to full-day seminars and trainings.
