Grand Opening of the UTEC Hub Press Release

Lowell, MA – On Thursday, May 17, 2018 (9:30-11:30am), UTEC will formally open the doors to its newest building at 15-17 Warren Street, the Nancy L. and Richard K. Donahue UTEC Hub for Social Innovation. Located next to UTEC’s main building on Warren Street in downtown Lowell, the building pays tribute to Nancy L. and Richard K. Donahue, leading philanthropists in the city. The Donahues’ support over the years has been a crucial part of UTEC’s expansion to serve hundreds of impact young adults, or those with histories of incarceration or serious criminal and gang involvement. When these young adults succeed, the community sees the greatest positive impact on public safety, public health and economic development. Confirmed speakers will include Governor Charlie Baker, Early Education and Care Commissioner Tom Weber, and other state and local officials.
