Media Liasion VISTA

Use your video and tech skills to make a difference in the lives of Lowell’s youth! This is a great opportunity to give back to your community, and get hands on production experience.

 

Position Description: The United Teen Equality Center, a by teens, for teen youth center in downtown, Lowell is seeking an excellent candidate to be our Media Liaison VISTA. The MLV would expand upon our existing multimedia capabilities by serving as a video liaison between UTEC and the Lowell Telecommunications Corporation (LTC) as well as other non-profit programs.

Responsibilities

  Qualifications: Experience with video and audio production equipment essential, and proficiency with MAC OSX, iMovie and ProTools systems preferred Comfort working on and posting to the web Strong creativity with a good sense of art and design The ability to not only use, but to verbalize and instruct others in the use of video technologies Comfort working in a fast paced, non-profit environment Interest in using video as a tool for social change

 

Compensation: AmeriCorps*VISTA (Volunteer in Service to America) members serve full-time, for one year with varying work hours and receive a modest living allowance, health insurance, an education award of $4,725, relocation expenses, and travel reimbursement. The United Teen Equality Center provides skills training, opportunities to build your resume and work portfolio, career counseling at the end of your service, and a staff mentor throughout the year to provide support and guidance.
