Staff Bio

Marcia has extensive experience fundraising for many organizations including environmental groups and youth, educational and hospital groups. Before coming to UTEC, she had her own event planning business, conceiving and running events for a variety of non profit clients. Marcia began her professional career in the foodservice industry and worked at one time as a personal chef catering to the likes of Madonna and Diana Ross.

She has worked with youth groups for over a decade, guided by the principle that everyone should have the opportunity to choose their path.  In order to choose that path, each individual should have the opportunity to see all the options that are out there, not just those that are directly in front of them. To that end, Marcia has worked with Summer Search, Teen Voices, and Citizen Schools among others.

Marcia received her BA from Brown University with a combined degree in International Relations and Portuguese & Brazilian Studies.  At any given time, she may have a working command of Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, and English.

Marcia lives in Cambridge, MA with her husband, some of her 4 children, and their 2 dogs. She is a fiber artist in her 'spare' time.  Marcia joined the staff at UTEC in October, 2011.
