Staff Bio

Laura Fries was born and raised in Bow, New Hampshire, where she lived until moving to Ohio to attend Oberlin College in 2006.  At Oberlin Laura majored in Comparative Literature and Hispanic Studies and spent a semester studying in Bolivia.  She also taught Spanish in the local elementary school and was a member of the swim team.  After graduation, she headed to Ibiza, Spain, where she worked in an elementary school, swam in the Mediterranean year-round, and traveled through Europe.  Laura is happy to be back in New England, especially as a teen organizer through UTEC.
