Adrian Macdonald grew up Westwood, Massachusetts. After seventeen years, he traveled south to the battlefields at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania to study at Gettysburg College. There, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and ran on the Cross Country and Track and Field teams. Following graduation, Adrian was asked to return as an assistant coach for both the Cross Country and Track and Field teams. He accepted the offer and spent a year sharing his knowledge and wisdom. Adrian enjoyed his role as a coach, but thought that there were people who needed him more than the runners at Gettysburg College. So, he headed home and took on the role of Athletics Coordinator at the United Teen Equality Center in Lowell.

Two of the inspirations of Adrian’s service are the summers he spent at YMCA Camp Belknap and his trips to the FIFA World Cups in Germany and South Africa. At Camp Belknap, he learned to “seek the joy of being alive” and put other’s needs before his own. At the World Cups, he saw that sport can bring the world together.
