Sovanna D. Pouv
Director of Multimedia
Sovanna was born in a refugee camp in Thailand and moved to the United States shortly afterwards. He lived in Chicago for a few years then moved to Lowell to reconnect with family members that were seperated during the Khmer Roughe Regime. He has lived there ever since. Fluent in both English and Khmer, he joined the UTEC family in July 2001 through CMAA (Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association), which had a program that was designed to help Non-US citizens gain a job in the professional work field. Currently, Sovanna serves as the Director of Multimedia.
Prior to working at UTEC, Sovanna was part of Big Brother Big Sister’s Adam Project who performed and coordinated the first few Annual Dance for Peace Events. He graduated from Lowell High School in 1999 enrolled as a Cambodian Club, Science Club and CAPAY (Coalition for Asian Pacfic American Youth) member. He received his Associates of Arts in Graphic Design from Middlesex Community College and is planning to attend University of Massachusetts Lowell in the near future.
