A Worcester native, Aleksandra grew up in a huge family, playing sports, studying theater, music, broadcast and print journalism, and was committed to community organizing. She recently graduated from UMASS Lowell with a degree in English, a concentration in writing, and a minor in American Studies. Aleksandra was very involved on campus holding postions as a writing tutor and editor, reporter the university newspaper, Resident Advisor, and Chair of Public Relations for a major student organization. Aleksandra was recognized early in her college career as Emerging Student Leader of the year, and was awarded with the Chancellor’s Medal for Student Service upon graduation in 2007.
Aleksandra fell in love with UTEC shortly after it moved to its Hurd Street location, and is now working with the Development Committee planning events, developing Public Relations materials and periodicals, assisting with Fundraising, and working with other organizations in Lowell. Currently, Aleksandra is looking forward to making a life for herself in Lowell with her new extended family. She enjoys working with UTEC’s teens and staff, and is dedicated to helping UTEC finish building its new home, and securing its future in the community for the betterment of Lowell’s teens and the future of the city.
